Thanks. No, you could build it open or closed. I quite often build mine with them open if given the option.
There are a few non-standard bits on the model – the instrument panel came from a Revell Spitfire VB, and the pilot is from a Matchbox Spit IX/XVI. The rest is per the kit.

Nice, did you cut open the canopy or do you get the option to leave it open or not when building it?
