Just for you Tyenoodle, with thanks for acting as my ‘weatherman’ for the last couple of days.
Spent the morning at the Bwlch in the Mach Loop hoping for some low flying Hawks. Weather was atrocious, so I shot off to Valley so that I would at least see something fly! The weather at Valley, 60 miles away was completely the opposite!
On with the pics. A lot happening and plenty of variety –

Then this unusual sight, two Hawks taking off in close formation with a chopper shadowing them down the runway. Search and Rescue Training apparently.
Incidentally I hope no-one (mods in particular) mind me posting some day-to-day operations photos in the Airshow section, when they are not strictly an airshow
Comments welcome
Steve
Edit – Apparently after I left the Low Fly Area, 12 Hawks went through Cad West and an Apache, which was at Valley when I arrived. It did leave, but well out of 300mm lens range

No worries dude, anytime 🙂
I was mistaken on the blue thing, never seen that before. Odd how it was following the hawks! Maybe a highup raf official?
Nice pics btw 😎
I thought photographer maybe. Hovering above and slightly to the side of them at the bottom of the runway and as they blasted away, it trailed them right down. Here’s a series (unedited btw). Just scroll down really quick, it will be like a film!

What a week I’ve had. Hendon on Monday, Cottesmore on Tuesday, Valley on Thursday and RAF Museum Reserve at Stafford today. Now, when I win Euromillions tonight, I will be able to do this every week!
