Kawasaki Ki-100

I share with you the link below containing a collection of photos, including a rare photo of an airplane captured and with USAAF markings, of the Japanese fighter Kawasaki Ki-100, recognized by many as one of the best, if not the best Japanese fighter designed and built during WW2. Does Ki-100 deserves the fame? What do you think? Visit the link below, see the photos and give your opinion. I hope you enjoy.

Yep, they were ran at the same time, any of them that would run were, infact they even dragged the Pembroke round that we used for taxying and marshalling training and ran that too for him 🙂

I remember going there ages ago when they used to run the stuff up which was great to see, there was even a rotary engine on a stand that was run. Pity things weren’t like that now.

Have seen film of the FW-190 & ME-410 running, would love to see film of the Ki-100 running.
Along with Black 6 in Hendon it is something that they should pursue again I think.

We ran the Cosford one when I was on my Mechs course at Saints for some Beeb bod recording engine sounds for history.

Aircraft in US markings is a Ki-84.

I’ve always felt that some of the currently ground-bound Ki-61 restorations should re-engine with a P&W R-2000 and get flying as Ki-100’s…better than collecting dust in a hangar.

I stand corrected; the Ki-100 back to Cosford then! 🙂 Time for a visit to both I think!
