The guy who made a living out of having his arm stuck up a green ducks a£se has passed away. Not my cup of tea, but he entertained a lot of people over the years. Respect.

I can not deny he was a great talent and one of the few from the 1970’s not to have been tarnished with some sort of scandal.
Astonishing to think that Keith Harris may well have stepped foot in both Stoke Mandeville and the Elm Guest House, but only ever drove his digits up the nipsy of a lovable green bird in a nappy. Laudable really given the climate of the time. :applause:
Orville was of course named after Orville Wright, so it seems only appropriate to move this thread to Historic Aviation. Sadly it looks like Orville has been grounded forever, though some compassionate soul might rescue the head from the textile bank in the car park of the Blackpool branch of Tesco. Will it be seen at the next cockpit fest? 😎

Grew up with Keith Harris and various furry things attached to his arm on TV in the 70’s and 80’s. Although he did used to get on my nerves at times, I can not deny he was a great talent and one of the few from the 1970’s not to have been tarnished with some sort of scandal.

Hi All,
Jim,
I am in agreement with what you put and will add that although I never really got the duck I did like his character Cuddles that was his funniest act a bit more risqué at times but none the less the character I will always remember him for RIP Keith.
Geoff.

How terrible to have been given the “All clear”, and for the Cancer to return. Like him or loath him, it’s not a nice way to go. R.I.P.

Has Orville commented on his death?
By: Mr Creosote - 28th April 2015 at 21:39
Fair play to him, he was popular in his time and no doubt gave a lot of pleasure to some people, but I have to say I hated Orville with a passion.

Sad news, Just lets hope they bury Orville with him.

I could not stand the man but I am sorry for his death as he gave pleasure to many.
