I saw on the news last night the funeral for Keith Ross Miller, who died at 84. He was one of Australia’s most noted cricketers apparently, though it was obviously long before my time. They mentionedhe’d been a fighter pilot during the war and showed a photo of him in uniform.
I wondered if he had had as notable a wartime career as he had on the cricket pitch? Where did he fly? What Sqn/s was he in? Anyone know much about him?
He was apparently second only to Sir Donald Bradman in Aussie’s cricketing history according to the report.

Keith Miller.
I do not know of his war time career, but once remember him being interviewed by some cricket personality, who asked “Do you feel under any stress when out there palying for Australia in the test match”. His most famous reply to that was “Stress son, you do not know what stress is till you have a Me-109 up your @rse.” He apperently flew Spitfires in europe.
