I’ve booked all my holiday so far this year – and I work every weekend.

As far as I am aware she hasn’t flown yet.
I do hope to strike it lucky next month when I go down though 🙂

Now Yeovilton is only about 80 miles from me, not 1000, so I wonder if anyone knows whether or not they are conducting test flights on her – and roughly when?

I have most Mondays and Tuesdays off, so it would be great to go up and get a “sneak preview”.

I wonder if there’s any possibility that she might be up and running already, just waiting for an opportunity to be shown in public?

If so, any chance that she might fly by Brunty on 2nd May (see you all there)? Or attend the Chivenor service & airshow on 2nd June?

Was this not the aircraft that the RNHF got back into the air before?

last time I saw one fly was the Southend Airshow in 1997.

be nice to see one again, lets hope for a Sea Hawk-Sea Vixen fly past!

In my oppinion Seahawk is the second most Beautiful jet after the Hunter,From a time when aircraft were Elagant as well as purposful,Can’t wait to see her fly again only ever seen her fly twice in my life,I hope and wish the RNHF a much better season than last year.

I think the Sea Hawk is a beautiful looking machine, be nice to see it in the air again.

Indian Navy Sea Hawks saw active service in various skirmishes with Pakistan, particularly ’65 & ’71. They were in front line service up until the early 1980s – replaced by Sea Harriers.

I also read that they were a delight to fly and were very popular with the FAA pilots too.

Sea Hawks were active in the ground attack role during the Suez Campaign in 1956, and quite successful too.

Did the Sea Hawks ever see active duty ?
If so, how did they perform ?

ie one of UK’s smaller wars (Malaya etc)
