Gents,
Ref the Extra and Glider display. The Extra is flown by Jon Gowdy, one of the Classic Flights pilots and the Glider by Guy Westgate.
I believe they have quite a few shows booked this year.

Rob just looked at your website. Some fine pics of Team Guinot(sp?) One young lady seems to be checking she still has the full compliment of fingers. Now where did I lose it this time?:D

Adraid not. The Harrier was due to form part of the other demo team which comprised of two Typhoons, two Harriers and other aircraft but that team was cancelled. This means that the Tornado F3s and GR4s are dowing doing all the demos. There was not going to be a solo display of the Harrier this year.
So no Harrier at all. There was one on static at Kemble. Rather sad as it is a crowd favourite at any show.
Thanks
Martin
Oh right thats a shame. Yeah the Harrier is a crowd favorite hope it comes back next year.
Thanks for the info Martin

Branscombe is a great day out. It’s more than just an airshow, it’s a classic car show too.
There are two fields. The PFA guys fly thier cans in during the morning. Then, when safely tucked away and whatnot, their field is open to the public to watch the airdisplay.
It’s usually old classics, no jets, as I recall, or choppers. Mock WW1 dogfights and the Harvards are always put on a nice display.
If you come along, I’ll probably move into the 2nd field as soon as it is opened, as you get a better view of the taxiing and take off’s/landings. The first field has a high hedge hiding the runway 🙁
Going home is always interesting, departures take off right over the pedestrian exit to the car park. It’s a great place to get nice shots.

Did you see me falling of my chair? Twice??
We must have been 5 feet apart again – near the first burger van this time!!!!
Were you one of the 3 Guys this time – all with lenses longer than my arm?
Agree, this year was very good – better than Cosford!
Anyway, I’m going to Branscombe, Yeovilton & Culdrose – see you there!!!
??? 🙁 🙁 🙁
Hi Rob.
Culdrose is a bit too far away for me. Yeovilton would be nice to go to. I have been there before but it now clashes with Flying Legends and I prefer legends for the whole weekend. May go to Yeovilton arrivals day on Friday.
Branscombe. Yes! I think I can do that one but I am unable to find any info about it. All I have come across is a pic of a Hurricane and a Mustang at the airfield.
I was with my niece, sister and the spotter again. I was not too far away from the burger van. Branscombe looks like a small airfield so I will look out for you there.
Look forward to your pics later.

I too felt it was an excellent and varied show with something for everyone. Considering how cloudy it was these photographs are impressive.
Out of all the items one of my favourites was the glider and tug doing combined aerobatics – it was so unusual and competent that it drew a spontaneous round of applause from the whole crowd.
The static had its gems too – the E.28/39 FSM rightly drew a lot of attention – hard to realise it wasn’t “real”.
Well done the organisers
I was at the show with my sister and niece. My niece enjoyed the Reds, Team Guinot and all the aerobatic aircraft. She was also impressed by the role demo and with the Chinook helicopter.
She was most impressed with the duo act between the tug and glider and so was I
Here is a link to a pic of the glider and tug. The image involved a lot of cropping.
I’ll put some of mine up later, in a separate thread. I would have done it earlier, but my little brother died on Sunday, and I didn’t learn until I went back to my car !! 🙁 🙁 :(
Hi Rob
