Yes Buccanear would be nice for Margate. I will 2nd Woodchurch. Nice grass airstrip, relaxed atmosphere, nice food and displays from early aircraft through to WW2 and after with one or two classic jets.

Lydd airshow 9-10 September looking good. Rob Davis was flying the Mustang.

And now for some more Margate pics including BBMF and Harrier

I think Miss demeanour is the best looking Hunter & by far the best displayed Hunter since Mark Hannas passing!

is it true that Jonathon “Flapjack” Whaley wanted to display Miss Demeanour at kemble but they did not want it there so he was asked if he could tend to the Margate air show which I have heard that he really enjoyed.

James

Sounds like a bit of bitching to me………….Does it really matter??????

Thanks Manstoninsider. I stand corrected on the Canberra – I assumed it was there.

The airshow was good. The commentary made reference to a ‘growing’ show. It was £10 per person to get in and £3.00 parking with a four hour display. Well worth it. I would like to see more of Miss Demeanour myself. Have not seen much of it in the last couple of years.

I believe the pilot borrowed Mustang Janie for the day as his plane is still awaiting a new canopy to be fitted.

I will be going to show next year.

Thanks for the nice comments

try http://www.heritageaviation.com/ for Miss Demeanour and I think she’s going to Yeovilton as part of a pair of Hunters

The Canberra never stopped at Manston, it met the Reds in the overhead.

Hi and welcome to the Forum and good to hear from another Manston airport Fan.

Now Margate

Nice and sunny. Aircraft further away than what would be at an inland show. Nevertheless decent participation. Other aircraft in display not shown here include the Blades, Red Arrows, Harrier and Hawk.

Sea Fury had to abort display mid through due to suspected bird strike.

RAF Canberra PR9 was based at Manston. Before the display saw it coming out of Manston in the mid distance seconds behind the Red Arrows.

Would have been nice if PR9 did a pass in front of us.

I left show before the Reds displayed at 4.30pm with the intention of going to Old Warden other way round M25. Got to South Mimms service station at 6.25pm so I would have made it just in time or shortly after.

I decided it would be rather cloudy so I did not commit myself to going up the A1.
