I think the second photo of the young lady on the top wing of the Stearman is a fine candidate for a caption competittion. I’ll offer a mediocre starter: What’s all this rubish doing up here?

I’ve seen two Su-27 Flankers in formation with an Li-2 (Soviet Dakota) – and they were very nose high.

Love all those pics, but I felt, from my perspective, that the Meteor flew fairly straight and level, while the Typhoon was somewhat nose high.
I noticed in a few other photos of the Meteor/Typhoon formation that the Typhoon had his dorsal airbrake deployed.
He was obviously flying at the lower end of his speed range in order to stay with the Meatbox – hence the high alpha attitude.
I’ve seen two Su-27 Flankers in formation with an Li-2 (Soviet Dakota) – and they were very nose high.
