Anyone seen this notam for Kemble? It made me chuckle.

Ah! the joy of youthful innocence! My lack of experience of high-friction surfaces blatently showing through there. So can you share any other humorous notams with us from you long experience at the helm?

Miaow!

A few years ago I was flying into Keffalonia airport in a 757. I had been mildly amused when the notams warned of birds in the vicinity of the airport. I made a VOR approach to the northerly runway before circling to land on the southerly. There was a bay just before the threshold of the southerly with a boat on the shore. Just before I passed over it it 2 non-feathered birds jumped up and dropped their tops! I absolutely slammed it into the runway!

I’m afraid that in the humour timeline, this one sits next to the one about the dog with no nose that smells terrible. It has been around for quite a while Janie 😉

So protective are they of their slippery non slip surface that bigger aircraft like the one I fly are not allowed to turn whilst on that non-slip slippery section, we have to roll past it.

‘What’s on the recipe today Jim?’
‘Low friction surface’
‘How do you get that then?’
‘take a high friction surface, just add water…’

Last time you managed my attachments I had to report you to the NSPCA.

I love stuff like that too.

I saw this one just before Christmas when I was on my way to visit Chalgrove (sneaking on some aviation content in a decidedly “General Discussion” post) and it just made me laugh.

In fact this is the box in which Druiscilla keeps her ex-boyfriend.

Or it would be if the ‘Manage attachments” thing worked.
