Thanks very much for organizing a wonderful and interesting experience Richard.
Great pictures and look forward to seeing more of them.
Ken might be a 93 year old but he still has a teenagerβs enthusiasm for what he loves, aviation.
It was a great pleasure for me to have met you Ken and thank you for you hospitality.

Thanks for the comments everyone, I will add a few more photos when I finish editing them!
One of the things you all may wish to know is that 11 April when we visited, Ken Wallis said it was 73 years to the day when he obtained his licence!

What is most amazing is that according to wikipedia he was born in 1916 and is almost 94!!! Probably one of the oldest pilots still flying in the world today…
…great pictures Richard!!!

Nice pictures. Not many in their 90’s can still do the things he does. I had the immense privelege of sitting next to him at a book signing at Brooklands. He is a lovely man. my Uncle was with me and was just descending the stairs (he was 78 at the time) when ‘this nice old chap offered to help me down.’ You should have seen my Uncle’s face when he realised later that it was Wing Commander Wallis who had helped him down the stairs.
In a phone call to him whilst arranging the book signing, I told him I would be honoured if he would attend and participate. Without hesitation he said that the story told in the book was one which he had long waited to see in print and that the honour would be his. Needless to say there was quite a pause as I composed myself to continue the call.
A truly wonderful man.

I love his passion for aviation. You would never believe his age to see him or hear hear him talking about aviation.
