Who are Kent spitfire, as they are attending the biggin hill airshow (on flightline). They are apparently bringing a Spitfire ix, and the only other mark ix’s in the UK are Peter monks, and OFMC (which is already on the list). Is this a new build which is expected to be flying by the summer?

Don’t forget tickets are available for our Audley End Spitfire day on 29th & 30th March!!!!!!!
Each day is limited to just 40 guests with the aim of giving you a unique, behind the scenes, personalised experiance and an unrivaled opportunity to get up close and personal to an airworthy Spitfire.
The full day event will be staged at the excellent Vintage Fabrics facility at Audley End, a venue which witnessed the re-birth of many of todays airworthy Spitfires.
A freshly made tea or coffee and a warm welcome from the team awaits you upon arrival. Several special guests have been lined up and a detailed presentation on Spitfire restoration and operation.
After lunch, provided by ourselves, you will have the opportunity to inspect The Kent Spitfire as well as other aircraft which include the Piper L4 Cub and Me 108 as well as an indepth look at some of the other aircraft undergoing maintenance or restoration.
A few tickets are available via our website at www.kentspitfire.co.uk or email us at merlin.promo@btinternet.com

Chaps and Chapeses,
I wonder if any of you kind people out there can help. For my own personal use (screensaver), I would like a high res. image (1280 x 1024 px) of the Spirit of Kent from a specific angle. Similar to the shot below, but taken of TA805’s port side, showing the nose art. Would anybody have such a shot already, that they would be willing to share with me?

Thanks in advance,

Iain I’ve just seen your Spit film and was blown away by it!! The quality of sound with the Merlin and William Waltons Spitfire Prelude brought a lump to my throat, so Iain thank you very much and be rest asured I’ll be playing it over again for a long time to come.
There aren’t many videos that i find myself watching again and again when its finished, but this is certainly one of them. The audio suffers a lot on youtube – for a real spine tingling experience it takes a decent set of speakers and a copy of the DVD 😀
The Biggin DVD is out, see here – http://planestv.com/shop/products/128D.htm
The other youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A33ThFYEZNs) includes a bit of in-cockpit footage – must say a big thank you to those at kent spitfire for allowing us to fit the camera – a great view of a lovely display.
Cheers
Iain

Does Peter Monk ever fly the Spitfire at all after all it is his, When does he get hold of the Two Seater Spitfire? I just found out what a Kent Spitfire was that the good people of Kent donated money from 1941 to purchase a squadron of Spitfires and that Kent is the only county in England to have paid for an entire RAF squadron.Wonder if we could do that now with some Two seater Typhoons 😀
Regards
James
He must do, the sheer amount of times Ive see it out and about must suggest its not always a display pilot flying it. As for the two seater Im not so sure that it has been sold to Peter Monk, I cant remember who its new owner is though.

Well it looks like you can now own your own kent Spitfire! 😀
http://forums.diecast-aviation.eu/showthread.php?t=6162&page=5
I must admit to getting a bit hooked by these diecast models, especially ones based on UK Warbirds! I have P51 Twilight Tear, P51 Princess Elizabeth, P47No Guts No Glory, MH434, Ferocious Frankie HAC Hurricane and Spitfire, TFC’s Corsair, P51 Big Beautiful Doll,RNHF Swordfish (With Folding Wings!) and Black 6! I’ve ordered this Kent Spitfire release so I reckon I might be able to stage my own Flying Legends line up!
Now if only they were all 72 times bigger! 😀 😀 😀
We have just launched the Kent Spitfire Shop
The site will be updated with news stories and new products as they become available.
Keep an eye on this site for all the latest news with regards our very special Gemini Aces Commission “Spirit of Kent”

that’s a great video, Iain. OT I know, but I am trying to upload a video to youtube (I make historic motor racing DVDs) but the file is too big. Duration is around 9 minutes. Can you tell me how I make the file ‘smaller’ so that I can upload it??
