A report says the Boeing 737 took off during a storm without clearance from air traffic control in Douala.

What i fail to understand is why the first officer did not initiate the correction if he was aware the Captain was doing something wrong? Why did he wait for such a long time to?

“While the first officer’s actions were “corrective” and the captain’s were “aggravating”

This sentence absolutely baffles me.

Me thinks Kenya Airways seriously needs to review their CRM training.
