Kenya Starts Production Of Light Aircraft.

This is truly amazing.

I’m utterly speechless.

This is why migration offers so much potential for the UK.

It must be great to have that dream, and you never know, one day he may do it.

Very interesting. As said earlier if he could just add lightness… At least he had the right ideas, I think he was let down by the materials he had to use. I say had to use because I doubt he had access to aircraft grade alloy or anything close.

Just think, this forum wouldn’t exist without all the dreamers leading up to Wilbur & Orville.

I’m sure nobody on here would think of mocking the guy. In fact how many of us would love to offer him a RH seat for a few hours? (Strictly providing he didn’t take it back with him and build it into his next project)

We had a similar guy here in Australia. A 16 year old who built his own plane and was ‘Adopted’ by www.Recreationalflying.com where by members put up to pay for him to get his flying license. He succeeded but I’m not sure what he’s doing these days, hopefully he’s still dreaming, and maybe still flying.

Thanks for the link, never seen that one, perhaps someone should let the Kenyan lad see it before he does himself a serious mischief.

He is lucky that that device was never going to get high enough to hurt him.

If he added lightness, and simplicated, he would maybe have a chance, perhaps with a high-revving moped engine and a basic stick and fabric construction.
Aeronautical engineering is a tricky subject, and few people make much progress without instruction. I am glad this thread was not founded simply on mockery.

Scrapheap Challenge did a great contest in 2003 ( 100 years of flight ) making aeroplanes from junk, and proved that it can be done ( albeit with some TV production fakery)

Watch the Brits blowing away the French and the Americans with a bold and fearless effort, which, in the style of the pioneers, threw caution to the wind. Rule Britannia!

True. Thank goodness it was ‘only the wheels’ that stopped it flying….
