Hi All,
Another update on Kermit’s BF108….;)
FoF Mechanic’s Corner – September 2018 update on the Messerschmitt Bf-108 restoration project. In this clip Fantasy of Flight restoration specialist Paul Stecewycz explains the process of removing parts from the plane, cleaning them up and preparing them to be repainted. He demonstrates the process sequence on several pieces from the wing, taking them through the sand blasting, chemical paint stripping and acid cleaning. It’s definitely an interesting look at this aspect of the restoration process.

Obviously I should be the types biggest fan but it really is a great little machine.
Without the lovely history but, here in the UK G-OTME is getting there. Should fly this year. Ignore the brown paint job, that’ll get unamericanised shortly.

Worth a view of this especially as he talked about how the fuselage panel is made, shows it being press-formed
I WANT ONE !

I do love the ‘108. Watching them play “baddies” in films for years is to blame!!

What a neat little plane,,, and they found a good one to restore. Hopefully it wont take too long to do and I look forward to seeing it done.
