Kev's Old Warden Military Pageant 2009

A little later than most, but what a show it was, and with the kindly weather too I’ve only just finished going through my take.

Great to see such a huge crowd, in fact even though I heard a previous show was a sellout, I don’t think I’ve ever seen more people. Well done to all involved, you did yourselves proud!

Where else might you hear an open invitation to stay behind, with stalls and refreshments staying open, so that something more delicate might fly. Again, kudos to the organisers, it was truly magical to see ‘The Edwardian’ finally getting to flex their wings again.

Anyway, on with the show, I hope you enjoy looking through them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Cheers for the company Andy Brian, Roger & Ashley, and I even met few new faces too.

Kev.

Demon looks lovely 🙂 So – anyone like to suggest when the last air display appearance of a Demon took place prior to this? Hendon 1938/39 perhaps? It must, in any case, be one of the longest type absences from the display circuit.

Larry,

The biplane with No 12 on it is in fact a 1911 Avro Triplane replica, or did you mean the 12th shot, of a Hawker Demon?

I believe this was the Demons first show, and is the only airworthy example in the world.

You’re right on the glider, it’s an SG38 Dagling.

Cheers,

Kev

Ah! I mean the one with the number 12 on its rear. I saw the one before it and thought it was the same plane. I’m viewing the pics on my phone but I can see now it is in fact a triplane.
