Kingfisher gets 5 star rating

Skytrax have announced that Kingfisher Airlines Star Ranking status review has been completed, and the airline is set to receive the ranking status of a 5 Star airline.

A 5 Star Airline status is the “ultimate” ranking, awarded to airlines achieving the highest Quality performance. 5 Star status recognizes airlines at the forefront of product and service achievement, that generally set trends to be followed by other carriers, and recognises highest standard of Product and consistently high standards of Staff Service delivery in Onboard and Airport environments.

Woww impressed. WELL DONE. It´s not easy getting that award. Comparing Kingfisher and Jet Airways, which would it be better?.

Jet Airways is still the prefered product amongst the business travelers.

Whilst they are new they seem to be doing their best to push a 5 star product. That was clearly evident when Mark L and myself visited their stand / A320 at Farnborough 2006.

Mind you I wouldn’t rate their Beer at 5 stars!!

I flew 9W to a very short trip to new delhi (2 days only) from JFK and i must say that at this time the comparison with SQ and what not is totally unwaranted . The airline is very good but missing some very important things . The service was good but not @ that level , 2 out of the 4 meal sectors , my choice of food wasnt there ( i had to settle for indian veg. food ) , drinks werent topped up , the FA’s were very freindly though although not imformative enough and one could easily see that they needed a lot of EXPEREINCE under their belt…For example it took 3 FA”s too finally tell the man in row 60 (second to last row on the t7) that the armrests wouldnt go up in this row . 2 FA’s kept trying…All in all it was a good expereince but if i have the choice of flying them or SQ i would choose the latter .

As far as Kingfisher is concerned , i really cant say but i am waiting for them to start flying non-stop to the US west coast whenever they go international. I bet their 380 product would be nice.

Yes but you have to remember there long haul product is very new and should be allowed time to come at par with airlines such as SQ etc.

As i have mentioned before somewhere the owner of 9W is an ex-SQ man so he only looks upto SQ for all the improvements 9W needs.

my date for the Iron Maiden concert is a Kingfisher airhostess i met on DEL-HYD. :diablo:

Its a good airline, good entertainment system, good assistance at the airport but it still has a long way to go to achieve class. The food is no good on most sectors i have flown and the inflight services still need more polishing.

At times i find the airline a bit too loud but i think thats just a superficial factor.

Basically it needs time to catch up on 9W in terms of service. But with its acquisition of Deccan Kingfisher is a major player now but i dont think it deserves a 5 star rating.
