Kissimmee August 2005

Hi gang just got back from Florida. I managed to get away from “The Mouse” long enough to visit Kissimmee and take these. Not to many, not to good either!!!. Most of these aircraft have been hear a good few years, out side the old “Flying tigers” museum. All are in poor condition, the Voodoo had some very nasty looking wasp/hornets nesting under the wing!. The S-58T was not at the museum, sorrey about the chain link fence on the right!!!.

Hi Cking,

What a shame ‘Flying Tigers’ closed, spent many enjoyable hours there during various trips to Florida.

Thanks. I’m suprised that the Invader has been left there. Maybe they’re not as rare as I thought.

I think the S-58T was a flyer, there was another on the line with it’s blades “spead” but all teathered and blanked off.
I have been visiting the museum every now and again for years and I think that “dumping ground” is an acurate discription of it!!. shame realy as the Panther is a “photo” one too.
The old museum is all fenced off, with two Trackers, a T-6 , magistaire (?), P-51 and other bits and bobs G.A. wise in the hangar.

Thanks, Cking for the photo report. Were these part of a ‘museum’ of just parked up at a dumping ground for unwanted airframes? Out of the lot, the S58 looked in the best nick.
