Thanks for the replies so far guys.
@Frank, the hotel was good! The pool and beach are very special. I also liked the Casino that’s connected to the hotel, doubled my bets with some Blackjack haha.
Think KLM is keeps improving very good over the last couple of years with some good inovation new pvt’s and uniforms.

Maikel. Loved your report. You set it out very well with lots of good quality, informative pictures.
Never flown KLM but they look decent enough. I love transatlantic flights that offer pizza as a pre-arrival snack. I guess its the small touches that set one airlines economy cabins out from another.
They also handled the delay in a very fair fashion by the sounds of it. Extra miles=:D:):D

I was there on business, not vacation, and same thing, at work the next day…
How was that hotel ? I ate there 2 times.
T5, I remember flying with KLM like 4 years back, and the food was pretty awful at the time (sponsored by a large brand of sauce). They really improved, I must say ! On the way there, I had the only non combi 747 not yet equipped with PTVs. Too bad, but hey, I had an emergency exit, so I wasn’t about to complain

Excellent review with some equally as brilliant photographs.
KLM is an airline I too am quite fond of. I last flew with them at the beginning of the year, albeit on a short flight from London to Amsterdam, and found even their short haul service to be above average. Their 747s seem to have had quite radical makeovers since my flights a few years back from Seoul to Amsterdam (and back again), both times on PH-BFT. Even without the PTVs, the flight was really enjoyable, and I recall the food being pretty good, too!

I never sleep on a aircraft. In the 2 days in the hotel I slep arround 3 hours and in the plane none. We arrived the 29th and I had to go to work on the 30st!

Funny, I was there last week as well, and came back one day after you…
The food was great compared to what many airlines offer on long haul, and surely improved from a couple years’ back.
On the other hand, a full flight on the return leg made for a pretty tiring experience. (I guess that might have had to do with the cancellation.
