Don`t you guys out there think it`s time for KLM to get some new colours on the planes,
Or do you think the colours are good the way they are????
I think it`s time for a new look with some more “fresh” colours!
I see them flying by at 2000 feet everyday , and the blue colours start to get boring!!!
So what`s your opinion???
See ya!

RE: KLM
Yes, the middle eastern carriers do know what they are doing.
I used to fly LHR-Bahrain 3 or 4 times a year in the 80’s and even back then Gulf Air were significantly better than BA. Both carriers used TriStars.
The irony is that even back then, a lot of the Gulf Air crews were Brits, mostly ex-BA!

RE: KLM
As a dutch frequent flyer, I use KLM a lot, mainly on their Middle East flights, flying J-class.
Their problem is consistency, or better, a lack of consistency.
During one flight they are brillian, the net one urghh, it is really a gamble.
Seats an legroom are OK, Amsterdam Schiphol airport is very OK,
boarding, where on earth is chaotic and often rude.
This spoiled little boy compares the european airlines with airlines like Gulf Air, Emirates who really know how to organise.
Boarding a Qatar Airways flight (J or F) is not by bus, but by a
BMW 740IL with roof mounted flashlight!!!

RE: KLM
not so in my case, just flew KLM Amsterdam-Taipei and back, poor service, the crew fell asleep, there was a 5 hour period of the flight where you did not see one stewardess and no drinks or food / snacks served, I have never experienced this with B.A who I usually use

RE: KLM
Yeah, but if you have to use LHR in order to get to AMS…
Anyeay, T4 at Heathrow is more bearable so BA longhaul flights aint so bad.

RE: KLM
If it had tobe economy class I’d go KLM rather than BA, because LHR is far less user-friendly than AMS…….and AMS is cleaner !

RE: KLM
I rate KLM very highly. The choice of movies was good. Staff very helpful. I mean I had ny daughter(infant) with me and we were sat at the window me , my wife and some one else. After take off the flight attendant asked the person next to us if she would like to move else where so we had more room. Plus my daughter got food and all that stuff something she has not paid for and something Air France never did. At the time we booked ther was only £15 of a difference between the KLM & Air France fare. £15 well spent on my behalf. So yep KLM rates the best I have flown with to date.

RE: KLM
I don’t mean that KLM is better than BA . I flew BA to Japan too.
Service was OK legroom in coach OK too (I’m 1.92m) .
I mean my only concern as a French traveller was the connection at Heathrow. AMS is much more convenient than the big mess in Heathrow.

RE: KLM
OK, how exactly are we rating KLM??
KLM biz class will obviously be better than BA steerage class.
On a like-for-like basis, considering (a) friendliness and ability of staff, (b) seat pitch/width/design, (c) IFE, (d) Price; how do you rate KLM relative to its peers?

RE: KLM
I flew a few years ago on KLM from ToKYO to Paris.
I was upgraded to and I totally agree. Great service and what a leg room!!!!

RE: KLM
I flew KLM at Christmas MAn-AMS-JNB and on the way out I was lucky enough tobe up-graded to business class AMS-JNB and it was fab. Not so lucky on the way home, and you do notice the difference once you have experienced the space and peace available in business class. I must admit I think KLM Uks F100 are horrible, but KLM Cityhopper F70s were much more bright and pleasant also food better than KLM uk

RE: selsport
If you travel from the UK then you’d tend to plump for BA or SAA simply because of the reasonable frequency on offer from LHR.
The big drawback of SAA is having to use the ghastly T1 at Thiefrow and the fact that the name of their in flight rag is unpronouncable!

I have flown BA, Air France, South African, Sabena to South Africa.
I’ve flown with BA, Lufthansa, Swissair + South African and Swissair beats the other ones in every field. Ofcourse, a sabena-flight would have been nicer, but there’s want not much of a choise. Lufthansa is horrible food, and BA offers a very unfriendly service according to me.

RE: KLM
And let’s not omit to mention that KLM provide great AMS connections from the UK.
Trainee Virgins – I am serious! I saw a stewardess wear such a badge a few years back!!
Also whenever you are in a take off queue behind a Virgin aircraft, the Captain normally says something like “sorry for the delay, we’re being patient with the Virgin ahead of us”
At lease they seem to say that at JNB!

RE: KLM

What do you mean ?
May 68 maybe ?

RE: KLM
Okay, strike actions apart (AF are hardly the only company in France to suffer this!) they aint a bad carrier.
Oh –
Were you born in May 1987, judging from your handle?

RE: KLM
Just a little comment about Air France.
I French and therefore have many opportunities to flight with them during the 15 last years.
I gave up to fly with them 3 years ago. I have may times been stuck for away from home because unexpected strikes and now I’m flying United or Delta to the US , BA , KLM , etc even train is better.

RE: KLM
I know tell me about it. came back to the Uk with loads of stuff and still had change. Never stayed in that hotel although we were going to on our last night but ended up staying at the wifes folks. Mind you when you are at Boksburg indoor market you see the aircraft on their final approach as its about 2 mile from the end of the runway. Great views.
