Haven’t posted in a while but back again 😎 .
I have flown on one of KLM’s 789’s. I was scedualed to fly with Swiss threw Zürich. But the flight from Zürich to Tel Aviv was overbooked thus I got a ticket for the KLM flight, was a business class ticket and a direct flight so I didn’t complain.
I have flown business class with BA before. I must say I was disappointed with KLM. The service was ok and the mail was good. But nowhere near the standard of BA. The seats where a regular 3-3 layout with the middle seat left open. We all got portable screens with movies etc, while it was a 4 1/2 hours flight. I was amazed because the planes are still quite young.
So all in all quite a disappointing experience, yet I haven’t payed for the upgrade so I look back on the flight with a smile.
Anyone has any experience with KLM business class?

I have flown long haul business class with KLM many times, probably more than 100 times.The cabin crew are amongst the best.
I always chose upper deck on the 747 but at the rear, maybe row 81.
Then you have a big wide windowcill locker to put all your bits and bobs in, briefcase etc..Nice seats, super service.
My regular routes were Hong Kong,Seoul,Kuala Lumpur, Singapore,Manilla,Tokyo,Jakarta, Sydney, Bangkok,Johannesburg.
Always the same standard of service.
I changed from BA for greater convenience so I could fly KLM all the way.
London Airways have lost the plot on this point.Besides, Schipol is much better than BA`s Fortress Heathrow.

KLM’s 789’s?
I’ve flown business class a handful of times with KLM on their 74M’s. Can only compare it with Malaysian Business class and similar to you I found KLM’s product not quite as good in comparison.
That said, its a good product and its a product that varies according to aircraft.

I’ve flown a good few times in business with KLM, and found them to be great every time, but I like KLM even flying economy.
Anyway, I’ve spent more time in the Crown Lounge at AMS waiting for flights than I can remember (although admittedly sometimes that’s been alcohol induced!) So thay’ll do for me!
