KLM orders two Boeing 777

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines said it has ordered two 777-200ER widebody jets from Boeing Co.
In an announcement from the Farnborough International Air Show, KLM said the two planes are worth about 344 mln usd and bring its total order book with Boeing to 13 widebody planes, including 10 777-200ERs and three 747-400ERs, worth a total 2.3 bln usd.
Deliveries will begin in late 2003, it said.

I heard they talked about A330 to pressure Boeing to get better prices.

A few months back I talked with a KLM instructor who told me there was no future plans to buy Airbus but I well may be wrong.

767, 777 and A330. Aren’t there big capability overlaps there?

Are they not expected to also announce orders for a number of A330-200s to replace the 10 MD-11s and 12 767-200ERs?
