Hi,
at last I found the time to draw one of the most numerous build, western, post-war ship classes. First picture is the Knox class as originally build and with its originally intended equipment: lower bow, old ECM system, smaller landing pad and hangar for the Dash UAV, mk-25 Sea Sparrow launcher with corresponding mk-115 manned fire control system and the open VDS bay aft:

Some other versions will follow soon. Hope you like it.
Regards.

The correct version of the Portuguese Meko’s is should include the 100mm Gun of the second link on first link:
The first link show a Portuguese Meko with 127mm gun, which is incorrect.
Our Meko’s have 100mm french type main gun instead. The second drawing has the correct 100mm french type main gun, but both masts are incorrect.
I know that it has the 100mm gun. That´s why I wrote that those extra pictures were done for a fictional universe:-)))
If you brows carefully you´ll find this version as well:

I might, or some of my associates may.
You after the layout of the Ikara deck and the radars as delivered, and the Ikara deck modified to accomodate 2 x Phalanx for the gulf deployment?

You are welcome Alepou 340MB.
Hey Unicorn, you don´t happen to have some close up pics (high-rez) of the Perth class, do you?
Regards.

On special request of Alepou340 I made the Hellenic Navy version as well. However it is basically a relabeled USN version. Anyway here you go:

Thanks! That’s all they were anyway. 😉

Stay tuned though, there will be some Adams class DDGs up next on this program……….
Regards.
Excellent, looking forward to seeing the Perth class.

Hi,
“I don´t want press you but a Baleares pre and post TRITAN MLU would be great (you know, with and without Meroka, Harpoon cans, and so).”
Ok, I can partly making you happy:

Don´t think I´ll do the pre MLU version since I don´t have any good images of that version. Just imagine the additional equipment wouldn´t be there:-)

Thanks again for all your nice work and I am happy that you like the drawings. I think I´ll leave the Knox class as that. Or did I miss another special version?
Stay tuned though, there will be some Adams class DDGs up next on this program……….

Hi,
here we go again:

The Taiwanese Chi Yang class as recently modified. I don´t know wether all eight unites have already been or will be equipped that way but 933 and 935 have been upgraded for sure. They got the radars (DA-08, STIR and LIOD) and the box launched SM-1 from the now decommissioned Wu Chin III Gearings. A large deck house was also added aft of the bridge (some new CIC?!) Note also that in contrast to the USN versions above the ship depicted here has the longer spray strakes (some unites got those, most didn´t) and the grey macks (like in the late USN service).
One might call it the ultimate Knox at least in Weapons.
For some guys over at warships1.com I made some other version to which they had personal recollections. If you want to take a look:
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k279/shipbucket/USAFF-1052Knox1a.gif
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k279/shipbucket/USAFF-1052Knox1b.gif
Basically those are mixed versions of the above depicting various equipment stages.
Next up will be the Spanish Baleares class the only true export version of the Knox design.
Regards.

Hi again,
“but never the less here’s my first and crude attempt. Its a some sort of “what-if” strenghtening of 051C Luhai class based on the idea that “what if china would been major shipdevelopter troughout the coldwar?” I’ve made some even cruder predesings of other ships and posted them in SDF…”
Not that crude I have to say. I like it. If you private message me your email I´ll send you some comments about what I´d alter. If your are interested that is.
“Or was that going to be #4 in the series.”
Indeed it will be:-)
Regards.

How about one of the Baleares/Knox-mod… since you are doing the group?
Or was that going to be #4 in the series.

Hi Gollevainen,
that´s why I use Photoshop, because of the multi-layer function and because I know how it works (at least I think I do). Otherwise the program is kind of overkill for the purpose. If you want the freeware version try Gimp.
If you have already drawn some ships I´d be happy to see them.
As for the Spanish Leanders see this thread:
http://p216.ezboard.com/fwarships1discussionboardsfrm4.showMessage?topicID=1362.topic
All the best.
Ah, a variant with rear mounted Tartar … more akin to Baleares/Knox-mod.
Nice drawings, pretty ships them Leanders even after all these years!

Well I actually have a paintshop pro 5 (found it hidden in the folderjungle about 2 years after I bought my comp) but sofar I haven’t got familiarized with it. The use of layers is not unknow to me, I’ve played around enough with AutoCads and altough Paintshp seems to have some sort of layersystem I haven’t learned to use it properly yet. Also the Undo command is poor in Paintshop so thus I remain with Paint. My old comp is too full to any additional softwares (exspecially the size of photoshop)….
