Funny thread title I know. When Anderson and Hitchcock in their Westland Widgeon the ‘Kookaburra’ were forced down and subsequently died during the search for Sir Charles Kingsford Smith and the Southern Cross they scrawled a brief diary on the tail of their aircraft. Does anyone have a photo of this and was this piece of aircraft ever preserved, if so where is it now?

Dick Smith funded a recovery and research, and had a book published on the sad story.
Not sure where the aircraft is now, but IIRC, it’s on display…
