The government will buy 40 F-15K jets from Boeing Co in a deal worth more than 4 bln usd, the defence ministry said.
The F-15K was chosen in preference to the more modern Rafale jet made by Dassault. The contract has been bitterly disputed by Boeing and Dassault with the French firm attempting legal action to stop the selection process.The ministry said the jets would use engines made by General Electric Co of the US.
