L-1011 Stragtegic Air Tank..

I understand the MOD is going to contract with either Boeing or Airbus for the Strategic Air Tanker….thereby eliminating the need for TriStar (L-1011) etc. Does any know (1)How long they will continue to use the L-1011 … and (2) who does the MOD plan (or which company appears) to be the favorite for the contract in December 2003?
It seems that until the MOD decides what to do the none of the parts suppy firms want to commit….do anyone have any “inside” confirmed information…
