Hawker Hurricane L1700 Crashed near Saul Gloucestershire on the 28th of December 1940
Killing its Pilot Sgt T.D.Vernon.
I believe that the Sevenside Aviation Society was involved in a major recovery of this Aircraft in the early 80’s.
Does anyone know where the Recovered items may have ended up.
Many Thanks.Iain

On my frequent visits to Minchinhampton I stop by Pilot Sgt T.D.Vernon’s grave to pay my respects.

I am writing a piece based on the Hurricane just for my own satisfaction and honouring the memory of those boys who lost so much.

Can anyone tell me the exact location where Pilot Sgt Vernon’s plane crashed and where I might either see or see photos of any of the remains of his aircraft?

Welcome to the Forum.

This is the 2019 thread to which you refer, I think

Maybe some of the original diggers will see this, and point you to where they made their excavation.
