La9 going to NZ?

As far as i know TFC still own La11 and plan to rebuild it as to OFMC i am so thankful to see a La9 until 1996 i had not even heard of this aircraft i saw both displays at Duxford and reckon she will fly in UK if possible again oneday,seems ironic that people seem so down on OFMC for taking aircraft to NZ Ray Hanna is from there and he has done so much over the years at Airshows here seems selfish to me.

The point being as I s-p-e-l-l it out for you. It couuld have stayed in NZ, there is no reason apart from possibly a philanthropic one for it to be here this year. Why not appeciate the opportunity tto see the plane while it was here?

Possibly it was intended for more shows, possibly mechanical problems beyond the owners control prevented this.

Obviously owners of warbirds should consult this forum before deciding what to do with a) their aircraft and b) their money!!

has it been sold ?

Actually we all ought to be grateful it was brought over to the UK and aired last year shouldn’t we?

It would have been all to simple to leave it in NZ, I for one am grateful someone took the time and trouble to bring over here last year…………………….

You don’t need to go SR71habu – just chill out and read between peoples lines. Whatever the squabble between Damien and UKAR might be, it’s got NOTHING to do with his ‘membership’ of this board. Fair enough, you make not like him, and he may not like you. What has that got to do with me? Ashley? Yak11fan? Any of us? NOTHING. I doubt any of us could care less. This whole petty squabble on this thread is nothing more than that. It’s pointless.

UK Airshow Review.

Used to be a very good site, but I’ve not visited it for a couple of years (they had a lot of trouble getting their forums to work and I had very little patience 😀 ).

In it’s defence, it’s always been a good site to find out about the major UK air displays; previews, reviews, travel and photography tips, etc. The thing I remember most fondly about UKAR was the hourly updates in the days leading up to RIAT a few years ago; the site owner sat in a field with a laptop and a wap phone and uploaded information about what had arrived and what was up practicing at any given time. Quite impressive I thought.

Well said Pink Flamingo. I was going to write a spirited defence of UKAR, but frankly I can’t be bothered. No-one at UKAR takes themselves or their hobby too seriously. We don’t bitch about each other and neither do we feel the need to suck up to people or bully them. The last person who tried that was unceremoniously booted out, weren’t they?

Theres nothing wrong with UKAR. No one bitches at each other like on here.

Burke was always known on UKAR as someone who’d edit or delete peoples posts because they didn’t match his own opinion. How pathetic is that?

Just for the record UKAR is thriving without his presence. 651 registered members can’t be wrong!

The owner has no guts? He had the guts to take away your moderator rights, which is the real reason you ran away and completely turned your back on him. And I expect that is all you have to say – paint a false picture and then never acknowledge the truth. they’ve fallen for all yoiur other acts and tricks here – i don’t suppose theyre about to start now.

BTW UKAR is another message board which I detailed in the previous post. And yes, I am SR71 Habu.

OK, there will be a fleet of 10 La7’s at Duxford on Sunday, that was confirmed by the till operator at Tesco’s garage tonight when I filled my Airbus full of kangaroos.

Oh, and about the ‘uptight’ remark; UKAR was a perfectly good place and still is, I’d rather spend my time over there than on Key. Many of you who consider DB as a God (Zeus? Mars? Venus?) may find this life shattering but it was because of the Great Man himself that the UKAR board began to deteriorate. Like many great men, DB’s power and command consumed his mind, and he became in most users’ eyes a torment. During the hour in which UKAR rebelled, he banned a number of people for simply asking what the hell was going on, cause I for one could not see what he was planning to do.

Yeah, I will go back to UKAR, and I won’t come back here. It’ll only make me feel sick, all these people sucking up to DB and his magnificent photos.

If you want to diss UKAR – try it for yourselves before you make a judgement. relying on the run away to tell tales speaks volumes for you, and the other members here. The fact remains its a better place to be than here; nicer people, more information and you dont have to fear being shot down for contributing. The ‘cesspit’ that he controlled for all that time – if it was that bad, why didn’t he do something? Make some major changes? Come on Mr. Burke, I would like an answer. Or ban me. Come on. Do it. Ask DB why he left. Ask him why everyone turned on him. Ask him why he post on warplane now after calling it a board “infested with children”? And what’s with the jet dissing? There are people on UKAR who favour jets over warbirds, but they don’t pi$$ take just for the sake of it.
