Linc – I think he possessed a quality rare in current politicians – integrity.
He enunciated democracy with his famous five questions:
What power do you have?
Where did you get it?
In whose interests do you exercise it?
To whom are you accountable?
How can we get rid of you?
Anyone who cannot answer the last of those questions does not live in a democratic system.

I went to one of his open nights, when he was on tour, I listened to him, and my view changed, there was something about the way he could put things across, that, was very honest. I thought he was a decent chap.
But that’s just my opinion.

A fine politician with an excellent intellect and an unwavering commitment to what he believed in. I had no sympathy at all for his political persuasion but respected him for his honesty. No bull****ter he! A classic parliamentarian – a word now practically in disuse so few if any of that breed remain.
In his latter years touring his one-man show he became tedious and tired and a sad shell of what he once was.
