I guess that not too many people that frequent this forum would have known Ron, but he was, I believe, the last surviving WW2 veteran in the 83 Squadron Association. He had run the Association more or less single-handed for at least the last few years. He was a tireless researcher for decades; a walking encyclopedia when it came to his beloved 83 Squadron and, above all, a great guy.
RIP Ron.
