Yesterday’s event at East Kirkby seemed to be well attended by photographers looking to get some interesting images of Lancaster “Just Jane”
First item on the agenda was a climb up the outside to get some cockpit shots

And a prop shot ……

Once everyone was happy ~ the Lancaster was made ready to move into a new position

And surrounded with some period detail …..

These elevated views were taken from the staging provided by the LAHC 🙂

A slowly setting sun added something to the mood

And many thanks to the owner of “The Puppy” for agreeing to have his picture taken

The day’s drew towards a close with an engine run.
Unlike the normal night run in November ~ the restricted number of people at this event meant you could actually move around and try different angles ~ rather than pick a single spot and hope for the best …..

Many thanks to everyone that helped organize this well thought out event.
Are there things I would like to see next time ?
The first idea is really picky of me …..
Put the crew bus around the back by the aircraft crew door and have the Matador tanker face forwards ?
Keep the numbers of photographers roughly the same as this time to avoid crowding.
Bring in some portable lighting to illuminate the 2nd session with the vehicles as it gets dark ~ even it we have to pay a bit more for the privilege.
Overall though I would say you got it 99 pct right first time 🙂 🙂 🙂
Edited to add just one more image …..

fantastic set of shots. the wheelbarrow in picture 5 is of the type you can still see being used in the BBMF hanger. i used to use one of the same type when i used to work on the flights aircraft in the 1990`s.. im surprised the barrows are that old lol

Great pictures Peter. Very evocative.
It’s the enactors that make these pictures that little bit more interesting.
Thanks for posting.
