Can anyone tell me please what the differences are – if any, between a 5CZ/5071 and a 5CZ/5074 lamp? The 5074 is described in the parts schedule as magnetic, but is this type a ‘dolls eye’ lamp?

There is an issue with items, which includes many filament bulbs, with a magnetic or electro-magnetic field, however small, being in the vicinity of other components which are adversely affected by magnetic fields such as magnetic compasses. These alone need a special bulb to avoid the instrument giving erroneous readings.

I have 5CZ/5074 listed as P/N 5165Y Mk1. I hope this info is of some use.

Thank you Terry for replying. I too have very little reference material on the 5074 but if the 5071 was very similar then it would probably fill my needs as a space filler.
Thanks for the pics.

Whilst not an expert, I reckon both these ref nos come out as what would be called dolls eyes. I can find little authoritative reference but 5074 is a Mk1 Type B2 which shows Flourescent White and black when energised, but these pictures show some differences, 5CZ5071 on the left, 5CZ5074 on the right:
