Hi all,
There seems to be a rumour that Ken Ward is selling off some off his cockpits and airframes to enable him to acquire a genuine Lancaster cockpit section. Any fact in this?
Cheers
Freddy

Lanc cockpit
Ken certainly didnt have, or have room for anything like the size of a Lanc cockpit never mind a fuse at his location when I was up there last summer.
Although I cant be 100% certain, i dont think Kens health would allow such an undertaking even though i dare say he would love to try it.
I would be interested in knowing the answer tho, as he is always on the lookout for a swop / trade. Who knows!
phil.

Hi Peter , do you have any photo’s of whats left of the cockpit section , if I remember correctly there was a photo in Flypast of the cockpit lying next to a mangled wing section ??.

Blimey, it was YEARS ago that Bernie was featured in FlyPast-something like ‘There’s A Lancaster In The Garage’! I’ll have to dig that one out later.

Mangled cockpit in canada
This cockpit section resides in our storage area in Alberta and it is slated to go to Bernie Salter . He is interested in useing it for the bombay floor as nearly all of the formers have been shot to bits due to it being on a gunnery range

There’s a mangled Lanc cockpit section in Canada which was supposed to be getting crated and shipped to the UK , but it was for a collector who has a replica section kitted out with real bits ‘n bobs , I think he intended to make a Real Lanc cockpit section out of both .Is this connected to Ken Ward at all????
