Lancaster Easy Elsie in Flypast!!

Hi everyone,

I got Flypast this morning and the article about Easy Elsie totally stunned me! I’ve posted on here before about my efforts to try and effect the recovery of this aircraft.

It looks as if Par Erixon is trying to get exactly the same thing done as me, we’ve just been working from opposite ends. I definately need to contact him, as he was the guy who organised the recovery of the tail unit in 1985. I’ve got the British end of things sorted with the MOD, it was only the last few bits in Sweden I needed to sort out.

Then it was just to secure funding. With a bit of luck the Flypast article may raise the profile of Elsie enough to get the necessary arrangements made to finally bring her home.

I’m going to write to the Editorial team to see if I can make contact by post. If anybody can put me in contact with Par Erixon, or if he reads this, contact me at biggles2000_99@yahoo.com

Thanks

articles

Richard,
The best thing to do would be to call the editors of the magazines that you wish to have an article published and tell them your story I think that would be quicker than writing or emailing them.

Hi Richard,

The guys at Flypast have posted a guide for contributions.

Tell you most of what you need to know about the requirements.

That’s a great idea…

How do I go about submitting articles to magazines; it’s not something I’ve done or even considered before. To be honest I’d welcome some advice on this one.

elsie

Richard may I suggest a huge media campaign to save whats left of her before it is too late? You should go after a major article in the aircraft magazines to get the story of her out there.

Best of luck Richard-to be honest, as I couldn’t remember who it was on here that had been crusading for poor old Elsie, I just assumed the bloke in the article must have been the same bloke from here! Now I know different.

May I suggest you ring the editorial team rather than write to them? It will speed things up, and you may get a better reply that way, too.

Again, good luck and keep us posted!
