Lancaster Flight Engineers Logbook

I was going through some old paperwork and found a logbook that my other half was given during my time in Japan.

It belonged to A S Clarke, and covers one tour on Lancasters of 90 Sqn based at Tuddenham between July and November of 1944. Interesting reading, especially touching considering that I was reading it on Sunday 11th November.

Not sure what to do with it – I don’t want to get rid of it but I am happy to scan and share the details with anyone who is interested. I would consider passing it on to a relevant museum if it is considered important.

If there is anyone interested in the contents I am happy to post some photo’s in this thread.

The problem with donating items such as these to any museum is that they never see the light of day afterwards unless a very serious researcher knows of it and uses it accordainly.
If I was in a position too I would have the log book professionly copied including the front and rear covers looking like the original, just like the After the battle team did with Guy Gibsons log book and then sell copies to the public which after normal costs paid out the profit would go to relavent charities.
This way not just the infomation would be shared out worldwide but also charities would also benifet.
Just an idea.

Jay
