Thanks to Peter for posting on my behalf.
Once again, a big thanks you to all of you who have supported this project since 2001. In 2005, over 500 letters of interest for the restoration were sent to Edmundston City Hall from Canada, USA, England, Scotland, France, Australia, and New Zealand – most of which came through this forum!
My new website contains the most comprehensive documentation compiled in one location for KB882. Newest additions include details of all 11 bombing operatons, post war RCAF records, photos with several others in transit from DDH, CF-DND HQ.
Of other interest, WW2 F/E: F/O R. Loveday, is still alive and well living in Canada. His son will be sending me copies of his log, stories and photos from 1945. In addition, several post war pilots and crew from 408 Sqn have contacted me in the last week with similar intentions.
Our last project was applying post war markings as can be seen in the August 8th update – more to follow showing work completed. Next project scheduled for late September is a complete cockpit canopy rebuild with assistance from Nanton, AB (FM159) and Greenwood, NS (KB839).
Stay tuned for more website updates.
Cheers,
Troy Kirkby
