Many years ago I purchased an audio cassette called “Lancaster ‘Operations On'” from the BBMF Visitors Centre gift shop. It was produced by the Lincolnshire Lancaster Association and was the ‘soundtrack’ of PA474 made at Waddington in IIRC 1984ish. Side 1 was Start Up to take off taken from inside PA 474 with R/T and Side 2 was taken from outside and was start up,take off, a couple of flypasts, landing and shut down. The thing is the tape is now more than a little worn and was wondering if it was available on CD anywhere.
I’ve tried all the usual searches but came up empty. Can anyone here help?

I still have the means but as I said the tape is now rather worn from overplaying. 🙁
I was hoping it had been released on CD so I could replace it. I will just have to get another tape to enjoy!

Heh, I’ve got this too, also bought many, many moons ago. It’s still a great recording though, with Sqdn Ldr Scott Anderson starting the old girl up etc. Best played with headphones turned WAAAAY up!!!
Also tucked away with mine is an off-the-air recording that was on Radio 1 once, of Simon Bates(!) first interviewing Sqdn Ldr Colin Patterson, and then going for a flight in ‘474, live on air! (Later on in the same show he goes up in a Tornado, and is sick!!!!)
Not sure I’ve even got the ability to play a tape now though!
