Lancaster over New York city ??

Evening all, am in the U.S.A, in New York city for a short break. Thought I heard sound of Merlin engines, looked up and thought I saw a Lancaster flying up the East River. Have I lost it?? too much sun? do I need help?! Tony K.

Thanks James and K225 for confirming that I hadn’t lost it.

Thanks K225. 😮 Tony’s aircraft recognition skill credibility goes back up to where it belongs.

Thanks James, for helping to preserve my sanity, (now a bit below par after that last Long Island iced tea!)

She was to be at the American Airpower Museum Farmingdale NY for a Battle of Britain event this weekend. Sounds like she made it despite Hurricane Earl.

The CWH Lanc is normally not that far from NY in relative terms (based Hamilton Ont, often flies over Niagra Falls) but last I read was on tour in Western Canada.

Have another cocktail!
