As the subject of Lancaster tailfins has appeared on here more than once, i.e, people thinking that PA474 was retro-fitted with Lincoln examples to ‘kkep her flying’ when in fact she had them from new like a few batches of the last Lancs, everyone should check out the Lancaster article in the current (Feb ’03) issue of ‘FlyPast’-a few of those Lancs have the slightly larger rudders, too! All from new, and most definitely not pilfered from a Lincoln!

Good point Lancman.
Not too many know of the history of the larger tail fins…
