This past weekend we honoured what is arguably the greatest Canadian Lancaster of all, completing more operational flights against the enemy than any other (84 missions). We applied the temporary markings of X-TERMINATOR, KB732, VR-X of 419 Squadron RCAF, to North America’s only flying Lancaster. X-TERMINATOR was also the first Canadian Lancaster to shoot down an enemy fighter (Ju 88) and on another trip, knocked out a FW 190. The last known surviving crew member of X-TERMINATOR, Don McTaggart, who was the tail gunner on its last mission was our honoured guest. We surprised Don with one final mission – a flight in “his” Lancaster! Read the entire X-Terminator story at http://www.warplane.com/about-cwhm/flightlines.aspx

Nice tribute.
I was flying in to St Catharines on Sunday and heard “VRA” on the radio.
After we landed we saw her in the distance and could feel the roar of power even from a few miles.
Well done.

That great, thanks for the confirmation.
I hope you can get your Lancaster to Australia some day.. we flew one over in 1943.. so it can be done 😉
Looking forward to the UK tour video too.
All the best!

Thats excellent!
The bomb tally really stands out in the flying photo.
Do you know if the original bomb markings were white?
Yes, that’s what Don McTaggart the X-Terminator tail gunner remembered.
