Lancastrian planes, registered in Pakistan

Hello, men !

Some sources reports about the using of 3 Avro Lancastrian aircrafts in Pakistani civil aviation – see link, for example:

http://antonakis.co.uk/registers/Pakistan.txt

Their registrations were:
AP-ACN
AP-ACO
AP-ACQ

I shall pleased to see any images of those Lancastrians, and to know more additional information about their using in Pakistan.

Regards,
Flyer.

Without wishing to deviate the thread too much:
Gnat IE1083 was with 23 Squadron IAF during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1965. It apparently mistakenly strayed into Pakistan and landed at Pasrur. The PAF were able to fly and test this aircraft. It is one of the original batch of 23 built by Folland and exported to India, which were in service from 1958. The Ajeet was an improved, Indian built version used from 1977. So the one at Karachi is a Gnat not an Ajeet.

There is a “dump” at the Pakistan Airforce Museum in Karachi.

My Pakistani friend replied that it is unlikely he will find any photos of the Lancasters/rians as they were in service for such a short time. But he will look!

And ACQ seems not to have used its AP markings. I have asked a friend in Pakistan if he has any photos. Will keep you posted.

Sounds good, dear l.garey ! I shall hope (with impatience) to see any photos…

Yes, Pakistani aviation had some real gems in it’s inventory.
I should like to see their Percival Proctor, Piper L-4 Grasshopper, Avro Anson, Stinson L-5 Sentinel, Lancastrian, DHC Chipmunk aircrafts (and Lancaster, of course).

Let’s wait.

Flyer.
