Hi everyone, I went to Lanzarote in June this year, before I joined the forum and although it was 2 months ago, would anyone like to read a report on it? I am asking first incase no one is bothered. I was right next to the airport so I got lots of different spotting done, I have loads of cool registrations.

What a coincidence though wys. I am glad you enjoyed the pictures. Do you ever take any from the cockpit. It is a shame that you are not allowed in the cockpit any more during flight, I can remember sitting in the jumpseat of a Go 737-300 coming into land at Prague, and that was only August 2000. Before the new regulations did you ever let anyone sit in the jumpseat if they seemed keen on aviation?

Charley, I stayed in a hotel on Matagorda beach, the resort between playa de los poscillos and the airport. But you can easily get to the airport from playa de los poscillos, just go onto the beach and carry on walking, about 20 minutes later you should reach the approach lights, and it is always nice to walk along the beach anyway. I have walked to the airport from when I have stayed in playa de los poscillos before, but matagorda is literally about a quarter of a mile walk, and as soon as you are on the beach, before you even reach the approach lights the planes are still close enough to see the registrations without binoculars.

Thanks Wannabe. It’s a real buzz for me to know that people get a buzz from what we do.
It is possible to visit the flightdeck on the ground when the engines are shut down but that is very dependent on how busy the crew are. Could the inflight pictures on a.net have been taken by the crewmembers themselves? If not, it could be from airlines flying under much less restrictive jurisdictions.
Regards
wys
