Large scale conflicts…without US intervention

I know you guys have probably been through this time and time again but what the heck!!! Here is the subject for discussion. During recent conflicts Russian fighters such as the MiG-29 have gained a bad reputation due to being out numbered 50:1 against F-16 and F-15 types in regions such as Yugoslavia and Iraq. Yet despite this we know they are excellent aircraft. In Ethiopia for example the Su-27 ruled the skies. Are there any possible theatres in which these aircraft are likely to engage each other (MiG vs. MiG) or Western aircraft on a more one on one level without the US or Britain sticking their noses in so we can gain a better idea of how effective these aircraft are??? I know India and Pakistan is one possibility to discuss, but I think past posts have proved the subject of these two nations in combat has proved too…emotional.
