L'armée de l'air base – Cognac

In order that I might better identify the aircraft that just miss my chimney pots on a daily basis (those chimney pots are in north Deux-Sèvres) and assuming that they pay me a visit from the airfield at Cognac – which I believe to be the armée de l’air base nearest to my chimney pots – can someone better informed than me – I only really know much about vintage light civil aircraft – tell me what types operate from there.

Today it was delta winged jet interceptors and medium size helicopters. Yesterday swept wing jet interceptors and jet trainers. Not infrequently it is turboprop trainers (many thanks to the pair who put on a fantastic aerobatics display over the house in January and delayed the pollarding of the ash trees whilst I watched them) and occasionally twin prop transport aircraft. When the latter come up the valley, at no more than a few hundred metres up, they scare the chickens s******s and we tend not to get any eggs on those days!

So over to the experts now!
