ALN would be an IATA code, at the risk of sounding too similar to Allen, ALEN would be a more appropriate ICAO code for it, or even more appropriatly it should begin with a K as all US fields do, so maybe KALN.
Hmm, now why did Key decide to omit a geeky faced smiley?

I highly doubt that… Tonopah is categorised as Private on FAA Maps…

The Harriers look to me like AV-8Bs, also USMC examples.. .They are radar equipped, and thus can’t be RAF birds. (Nor RN, as the Sea Harriers are based on the first version of the plane, with the British wing)

Nellis Air Force base is just north of Las Vegas, which is where the Thunderbirds are based. Regardless of this, the ‘area 51’ 737’s are always parked at McCarran. And yes, EAL_King, Area 51 does exist and there is an air base in Nevada. That much I know for sure. The latter part on the other hand…..

there is not an airbase in nevada area 51 does not exist aliens did not land here you are all seeing things 😀 lol 😀

probably has to do more with the zoom on my camera then the camo… they were pretty visible out there….. i figured that with their VSTOL capability they can just take off rather then waiting in traffic for clearence..
BTW is there any military airfield close to Las Vegas? Could these jets have been there to take part in exercises at China lake?

Yeah they are, i thought they only had 2-3 of them but apperently they operate about 6-7 a/c, and also have their own parking lot and terminal for exclusive use….(i was staying in Mandalay bay and had a clear view of hte airport and saw various take offs and landing, sadly did not have a camera with a decent enough zoom)
Also found this very wierd but in the last picture you can see that there are 2 Av-8 Harriers lined up in traffic for take off, couldnt tell from the distance but they sure as hell look like RAF birds, what were they doing at the airport???
