It is with regret that after 48 years as a free admission Museum we have had to take the decision to introduce an admission charge from the start of the 2018 season.
This is due to the ever-increasing day to day costs of operating the Museum, coupled with the expenditure involved for the Museum’s new display hall, which will have cost in the region of £130,000 when the fit out of the displays are completed. The restoration of the Museum’s rare Fieseler Fi103R-4 Reichenberg has cost another £40,000.
In order to put the Museum’s income onto a more secure footing from the start of the 2018 season, the following admission charges will apply:-
Adults – £2
Over 60’s – £1
Children (5 to 16) – £1
Children (under 5) – Free
10% discount for parties of 10 or more
We are pleased to announce that we will be extending our opening hours as follows:-
3rd March until 27th October – Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays (closed Good Friday) – 10 am to 5pm (last admission 4.30pm)
28th October until 16th December Sundays only – 10 am to 4pm (last admission 3.30pm)
Parties at other times by arrangement.

A great collection of artefacts that certainly warrants the extremely low charge of £2 entry fee.
Not a problem for me personally, i normally visit 4 or 5 times a year and im only to happy to pay each visit,
Good luck for the 2018 season.

I’ve never been, never been in the vicinity. I was unaware that it was free but at those prices it’s definitely on my list of museums to see especially with it being such a bargain, wish them well and long may their inflated entry fee continue!

Good on you for making this decision, museums cannot survive on donations alone and why should they the effort all the volunteers have put in over the years would of cost millions and they put this museum in place.
Not even the price of a Costa Coffee for entry, bargain !
Well done one and all of you

£2:The price of a cheap lotto card. I hope this very low charge helps keep the museum on a sound financial footing. Keep up the good work.
