Excellent photo’s Foto4, I’ve enjoyed the whole bunch very much. Thanks for sharing them! Do you happen to know what the current status of the Yak-3 is? Last I heard she’d run off the end of the runway and been a tad damaged. It looks as though she’s back in airworthy trim judging by your pics though.

Adrian, so far as I can tell the two Hurri’s are BBMF’s Mk. II LF363, and HAC’s Mk.XII Z5140.

I see (in the distance) the Islander. That must have some miles on the clock, without ever going anywhere, if it’s the same one they were using 25 years ago!

And is that R4118?

Very nice! Must get back down there…

On looking through the pics again I realise it was the picture of N93?9 that made me think it was windy.

G-ASKP was being derigged, all completed on a Sunday afternoon by members of the Tiger Club.
The artist is Paul. he can been found in the museum at Headcorn, his illustration are fantastic. Some of his work including the illustration of ASKP will be used in a book being published by the museum.
I certainly admire him for the skill and quality of his work and the amount of hours he puts in to achieve such superb results.
Hope to post more pictures later for those interested.
Thanks for the photograph comments.

Don’t worry if you want more of Headcorn I will post here.
I am intrigued as to why you thought it was windy at the time of the ACDC shots.

Ah take no notice it was just me being stupid. When you are flying in one you don’t get to see an outside view of the take off and landing. Maybe those angles are normal, I was too busy enjoying the only flight I had in a Tiger Moth to notice the climb and landing angle of the aircraft. There is no doubt that 30 minutes is not enough time to take much detail in when it is your first flight in the type.
As for more photos of Headcorn/Lashenden, yes please. The more the merrier. They certainly seem to have a wealth of interesting types either based there or just visiting.

Nice pics. I love the ones of rigging, or is it derigging, G-ASKP.

(Must remember in future, having a camera keeps you from getting ‘volunteered!’ :diablo:)

Anybody know who the artist is?

Some great photos there folks. As said earlier please can anyone who happens to be there post photos here as there does seem to be plenty of variety on show. You both seem to have been blessed with some decent weather though looking at the later shots of the Tiger Moth I get the impression that it was a bit windy.

Really nice pictures guys, capturing the unique spirit of the airfield better than I’ve ever seen before.

I was there today committing aviation…….sadly I didnt bump into that pair of saucestresses 😉

Terry, a few shots taken recently at Headcorn, you are right it is one of the best airfields for interesting resident and visiting aircraft. Hope you enjoy looking.
