Last day of July @ MAN

Hi everbody, a delayed posting I know, but these few shots are what came my way during an unsuccessful morning 🙁 waiting on the departure of the one that got away (a.k.a. the DC-9).
Regards,
Peter

Levelling is usually tricky at MAN because of the deceptive lie of the land – the famous “hump” on runway 23R/05L is only part of the story!

I find that it’s useful to keep a strong vertical in frame and use that for levelling rather than the apparent horizon.

From the South Side vantage point that you took these from the Monarch hangar and the engine test bay fit the bill admirably.

Nice work, by the way. 🙂

Nice images, some good traffic there and nice weather! Just need levelling a bit.

Thanks for looking and I appreciate your comment re: the levelling. This is something that I have noticed on other occasions when I have photographed departing aircraft on the 23L threshold at MAN (must be my age!) – do any other posters ever experience the same ?
Thanks to all who posted positive feedback, it is much appreciated.

I would say it was a pretty successful morning at Manchester! You took some really good shots and caught a few rare birds.

Well done

Great shots.

I belive the LH A340 was a medical diversion.

Pete

Some fantastic images there, well done. My favourite has to be the BMI A321, although it is great to see a A340 at MAN! Don’t usually see them around alot.

Keep up the good work, & if you have any more pictures, please feel free to share

Adam
