Rather poignant as I visited Stalag Luft III last week. It is now a forest but with many of the hut foundations remaining and photographs showing the camp as it was. There is a nearby museum which was closed on Mondays.

I hope he enjoyed his last years plotting their escape from the veterans home with his his old friend from Stalg Luft III, Alex Lees. So few left now…..:(
