Last RAF crewed Canberra flight Tuesday 18th July

Cutting it fine,
just heard that a PR 9 will be flying over Salmesbury and Warton Airfields at around 10 10:15 tuesday 18th.

A nice touch from the RAF and suure to be well received by all at the birthplaces of the wonderfull Cranberry.

I know some of the forumites live out this way so maybe they will be over to take a fewe pics.

Talking of the PR.9s, I am surprised (unless I have missed it), that no-one has mentioned the display at RIAT on Saturday morning. That aircraft was really being wrung-out, very nearly rolled, and the fast-pass must have been just about at full-chat. Terrific stuff, he was obviously enjoying himself.

Last RAF crewed canberra flight

It might be the last RAF Canberra flight but the last RAF crewed Canberra flight will be some time in the distant future as Dave Piper will still be flying WK163 long after the PR9’s have gone.

Certainly not the last RAF crewed flight as there’s a display and flypast at the Marham Families Day on the 27th…

Oooops. forgot the families day event at Marham.

Apologies for the inaccurate header folks.

Canberra Flypast

🙂 Ops Sqn here at an air base near Sleaford gave us the message that we would have a Canberra flypast at 1215 local and, sure enough,we did. Not 1 but 2 passes, the 2nd after joining the circuit, gear down then overshoot and flyby – probably to Waddington next from the look of it. Very nice, many thanks!

The south route/’Avon 1′ was flown with XH134, arriving over Hurn with a run-and-break. It then joined the circuit and performed the overshoot, banking over the FRA buildings and its employees that were stood outside.

Dodgy pic…

I see that they are up for auction again, closing date for bids 20th July. So I guess there will be delivery flights after this date with RAF crew.
